Small Screen Science LIVE!

Small screen science is the science comedy podcast you didn’t know you needed. Join Karen and Emma as they explore the hidden science behind your favourite TV shows, from Bridgerton to Bake Off, Line of Duty to Killing Eve.

Do you know how to spot a narcissist from their eyebrows? Can fake boobs stop a bullet? What happens if you’re bitten by a vampire bat? Why might watching Love Island actually be good for us? We scour the journals and pick the brains of the experts to bring you the most unusual research from the world of science, shedding new light on your most-loved small screen binges.

What can you expect?

In our live shows, we record an episode of the podcast with a live audience, in person or digitally, and take an in-depth look at one show in particular. You can expect us to go down unexpected science-fuelled rabbit holes, share our own thoughts on the show and to get the audience involved in polls, or spotting any classic quotes from the show we’re dissecting, that we sneak into the show.
